TIP OF THE MONTH

Learning disabilities are a life-long issue.  Help your child master self-advocacy skills.

"As school begins, the consultants at LDA are available to help your family and your child with school programming.

If you have a child with an atypical learning problem,
i.e., learning disability, ADHD, autism, speech language,
reactive attachment disorder, sensory issues, etc.,
don't try to facilitate the special education maze on your own.

LDA is available to attend school meetings,
so don't hesitate and call now."

You see the frustration on his face.  You watch helplessly as she struggles to keep up with her class work. It’s not laziness or lack of intelligence. You know he has the ability, but you don’t know how to help him unleash it.

We can help. At the St. Louis Learning Disabilities Association, we work with more than 13,400 children, families and their teachers each year to help them learn and grow to become independent, self-assured, and self-reliant adults in our community.

We work with children from birth through college, regardless of ability or disability.  We are dedicated to helping the atypical learner be successful at school and in life.

An estimated 63,000 children in St. Louis city and county have been diagnosed with some form of learning disability or ADHD. For them and their families, every day is one of confusion, anxiety and concern.

We understand the challenges you face. We know your child has the potential to succeed. We can help you identify and access resources that open the doors of learning and independence and replace despair with hope.

Your child can succeed in school and life.
