Real Journeys Of Perseverance, Support, And Achievement

Together, We Turn Challenges Into Triumphs

At St. Louis Learning Disabilities Association, we see every day how perseverance, the right support, and a caring community can transform lives. Our students’ journeys are as unique as they are—filled with challenges, breakthroughs, and moments of pure joy. Some have gone from struggling to read their first chapter book to confidently sharing presentations in class. Others have discovered talents and passions they never knew they had.

These stories shine a light on the incredible determination of the children and families we serve. They remind us that learning differences do not define limits—they open new paths to growth, creativity, and success. We’re honored to share these snapshots of courage, resilience, and achievement from across our LDA community.

Every student’s story is worth celebrating.

Your journey could inspire another family just beginning theirs. If you or your child have experienced growth with the support of St. Louis LDA, we’d love for you to share your story and help others see what’s possible.

“We can’t thank you enough for all your hard work! The last 18 months have been dramatically changed for our child. He has grown leaps and bounds in his education. He is a completely different student than he was. We can’t thank you enough for lovingly guiding him in this!”

“Our daughter has been coming to St Louis LDA for the past 6 years and we love it. She is autistic with cognitive and developmental disabilities to which the team has worked very well with her to help her achieve her IEP goals. She loves her tutor. The professionalism, compassion and experience has been a Godsend. She loves coming every week.”

“I just love what you all do. You are helping my daughter so much. It is showing up in her school work and her tests. She is doing so much better, and it is amazing what your services have done. I am so grateful.”

We have really seen steady improvement with our son’s consistency in his reading and writing by having these summer tutoring sessions.”

“The IEP the LDA wrote saved my daughter’s college education during COVID. The university where she was enrolled closed the testing center down, ignored other academic safeguards during COVID, and expected kids with academic challenges to figure it out. I am happy to report Grace is an ICU nurse in Nashville. Her IEP kept her in school, on track, and she has a career that she dreamed about and loves. She is soooooooo happy. Her IEP saved her………and me, Mom!!! As you know, the struggle is real, but as I would tell Grace, ‘Your struggle is your strength. It is your superpower.’ All my best to your organization and the excellent work you do for those who do things a little differently. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
